Black Adam Is Being Kept Out Of ‘shazam’ By Dwayne Johnson!
Just like his superhero character Black Adam, Dwayne Johnson is putting up a fight just like his character.
A feature film revolving around the antihero will be released by The Rock in the DC universe, and it was the actor who fought to give his character his very own origin story in order to bring him into the DC universe.
According to Johnson, when the first draft of the movie was sent to us, it was a combination of Black Adam and Shazam: Two origin stories combined into one movie. In fact, that was the goal, so it wasn’t a complete surprise to me.
However, when I read that, I just knew in my gut that this could not be the way we were going to make this movie. If we were to do this, we would be doing Black Adam a grave disservice.

It would have been fine for Shazam if two origin stories were converging in one movie, but it would not be good for Black Adam.”
In a later meeting with studio executives, Johnson would explain to them his thoughts on splitting up the characters into their own films, and then reuniting them in a showdown down the line.
It was then that I said, ‘I have to share my thoughts here.’ It was very unpopular at the time because everybody thought, ‘hey, this script is great, let’s make this movie.’ I then said, ‘I really think that you should make Shazam! You should make that movie on its own in the tone that you want to portray it in. I think we should separate this as well.”
Johnson won the argument, and both Shazam! and Black Adam will have their own standalone films in the same DC universe, giving fans what they want.
The release of Black Adam in theaters is set to take place on October 21, 2022, by Warner Bros.
