In the past three decades, Bo Jackson hasn’t been able to lace up a pair of football cleats for the first time in more than three decades. The legend of his life and achievements continues to grow even today.

There is a reason for that; he is not only great on the field, but he is also a great person off the field as well.

Bo Jackson’s donations to the funeral costs for the 19 children and two adult victims of the horrifying mass shooting at a school in Uvalde, Texas, last May is one example of his generosity. Jackson stepped up to contribute $170,000 to the funeral costs for the 19 children and two adult victims following the massacre.

In the beginning, Jackson’s donation was made anonymously, which is why we are just now becoming aware of the details of his gift.

I could tell you that Jackson has almost no ties to this community, even though he is an Alabama native who grew up here.

I can’t tell you how many times I have been to Uvalde, but it sticks in my mind forever. In an interview with ESPN, Jackson said, “It was just the name.”. He then added, “I don’t know anyone there. As soon as I read it, I just felt touched.

In the aftermath of this tragic incident, Jackson, a father of three, was clearly profoundly affected by the events. After the shooting, he expressed the same sentiment in a tweet that he posted.

The sum of $170K may not seem a great deal of money to a player or team who is actively involved in the NFL. Although it may not seem like much to some people, it is a significant sum to most others – including Jackson.

There must be a lot of work that goes into every family there just to be able to do what they do,” Jackson said. This shouldn’t have happened, and they should not have been required to shell out thousands of dollars for something that shouldn’t have happened in the first place.”

When Bo was playing for the New England Patriots, he was an inspirational two-sport star. As a result of his efforts, he has continued to be an inspiration to this day.
