The 43-year-old actress was last seen in February at her home before her body was found five days later in a vehicle five miles away from home where she was last seen.

The cause of death of “Empire” actress Lindsey Pearlman has been revealed six months after she was discovered dead in Los Angeles.

In accordance with records of the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner, Pearlman died as a result of sodium nitrate toxicity on Feb. 18, according to his death certificate.

The Los Angeles Police Department has reported that Pearlman, 43, went missing after she was last seen at her home in East Hollywood on Feb. 13.

A missing person report was filed by the LAPD five days after her disappearance, and her body was found on Feb. 18 inside a vehicle near Runyon Canyon Park in Hollywood, where the LAPD issued missing person report. At the time, the coroner’s office did not release any details about the cause of her death.

After her body was discovered, the actor’s representative, Michael Chiaverini, released a statement on behalf of the actor.

Lindsey Pearlman passed away today at the age of 40, and we are deeply saddened by her passing,” Chiaverini said in a statement. As they process and grieve during this difficult time, the family has asked for privacy during this difficult time.

During Lindsey’s disappearance, Savannah Pearlman, Lindsey’s cousin, shared the missing person report at the time and said that Lindsey’s sister asked her to share the number of the National Suicide Hotline with anyone who needed it.

It is with deep sadness that I report that they have found Lindsey and it is too late to save her,” she wrote in an email. The location and circumstances of the incident are unknown to me at this time.”
