On Aug. 16, Florence Pugh announced that she and her longtime boyfriend Zach Braff have ended their relationship in her Harper’s Bazaar Icons cover story.

Earlier this year, the 26-year-old “Don’t Worry Darling” star revealed that she and the 47-year-old “Scrubs” alum split up.

She also told the outlet that they had subsequently worked together on Braff’s 2023 film “A Good Person” as well.

It’s been a long relationship that everyone has an opinion on and we’ve been trying to do this separation without letting everyone know,” Pugh told Harper’s Bazaar.

She claimed that she and her husband were “just looking for an opportunity that would allow us to avoid having people tell us how happy they are that we are no longer together.

So we’ve gone that route. I automatically get lumpy throat when talking about it.”

This couple seemed to have gotten together after they worked together on Braff’s short film “In the Time It Takes to Get There” in April 2019, and they were pictured holding hands in New York City that same month.

Due to the 21-year age gap in their relationship, Pugh explained in her Harper’s interview that many aspects of their relationship were subjected to public scrutiny because of this.

It was previously reported that the “Little Women” star had previously addressed the criticism when she posted a photo on Instagram of Braff on his 45th birthday in 2020, to which she received “horrid” comments hurling abuse at him.

Pugh said, “I do not need you to tell me who I ought to and ought not to love, and I would never in my life, ever, ever, ever, tell anyone who they should and shouldn’t love. It is not your place, and really, it has nothing to do with you.”

In an interview with Harper’s, actress Pugh said she struggles with the public consumption of the details of her private life.

I have always felt that line has been crossed at any time, whether it has been paparazzi taking private moments or moments that aren’t real, or gossip channels encouraging the public to share private moments of famous people walking down the street, and I find it extremely wrong.”

In the interview, she explained, “I think that this is incredibly wrong whenever I see the paparazzi taking personal moments or moments that aren’t even real.” “I don’t think that people, just because they have this job, that every aspect of their life should be watched and written about.

As far as I know, we have not signed up for a reality TV show.”

As early as May, speculation about a split between Pugh and Braff was rampant after Pugh was spotted vacationing in Ibiza with her “Midsommar” costar Will Poulter and friends.

According to Pugh, romance reports involving Poulter are “silly” and she made it crystal clear to her followers that the two are not dating.
