Leslie Griffith, A Longtime Anchor For KTVU Bay Area, Has Died

Leslie Griffith, a former Bay Area news anchor, has died, according to KTVU Channel 2.

A report says that Griffith, who had been anchoring the news on KTVU for more than two decades, died on Wednesday in Lake Chapala, Mexico. According to a family member who spoke with KTVU, Griffith has been suffering from Lyme Disease ever since he was bitten by a tick while living in Oregon in 2015.

Since 2016, she had owned a home in Mexico that she had lived in since she was a child.

In 1986, Griffith joined KTVU as a weekend reporter and anchor and went on to become one of the most respected television journalists in the Bay Area.

In 1998, she began co-anchoring the “Ten O’Clock News” with Barbara Walters.

In 2006, Griffith resigned from his position and left the company.

KTVU reported that Griffith is survived by two daughters, Trenton and Carly, as well as two grandchildren, who are both from Tomball, Texas.
