New Jersey Election Day: Primary Election Day in New Jersey – Know how to vote & what is on the ballot-Share Market Daily

Tuesday marks the primary election for New Jersey’s congressional midterm elections, which are closely watched. Voters also have time until Tuesday to submit their mail-in ballots.

It is up to the voters to choose who will represent each of the 12 seats in the state’s House of Representatives.

Additionally, local races are held throughout the state.

The 2022 primary does not feature any statewide races. In addition to the presidential race, there will be US House races for each of the state’s 12 congressional districts. The first time incumbents and challengers are on the ballot since the new districts were drawn in December.

Midterm elections were held this year during Democratic President Joe Biden’s first term in office. The Republican Party hopes to recapture both chambers of Congress: the Senate and the House.

New Jersey’s two Senate seats aren’t up for election this year. There are, however, all 12 House seats. There are currently 10 Democratic seats in this blue-leaning state. The House elections take place every two years.

A primary can only be voted in if you are a registered Democrat or Republican. However, New Jersey’s primaries are open, so unaffiliated registered voters will also be able to vote by asking for a Republican or Democratic ballot.

Throughout New Jersey, polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. You must be in line by 8 p.m. to cast your ballot.
