Novak Djokovic reached the Wimbledon 2022 semi-finals after fighting back from 2 sets down to defeat Jannik Sinner 5-7, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 for the third time in a row.

Novak Djokovic came back from two sets down to win the quarter-final at Wimbledon 2022, where he is a 20-time Grand Slam champion.

Novak Djokovic came back from two sets down for the third time at Wimbledon against the 10th seed and 20-year-old Italian Jannik Sinner.

His only loss at Wimbledon came in 2006 when Mario Ancic beat him in a five-setter.

Djokovic maintains his dream of winning a fourth straight Grand Slam by reaching the Wimbledon semi-finals for the 26th consecutive year.

In 43 Grand Slam tournaments, Djokovic has reached the finals for the 11th time in his career.

The match was won by Djokovic 5-7, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 after a 3-hour and 35-minute match. During the toilet break, Djokovic gave himself a “little pep talk in the mirror” after he looked completely deflated in the first two sets.

As Sinner descended from the Centre Court after a memorable campaign that included a first-round knockout of the number one seed Stanislas Wawrinka and a Round of 16 win over Carlos Alcaraz, Djokovic led the applause for Sinner.

While Sinner put on a brave show, Djokovic dominated the final three sets. During the 4th set of the match, the 20-year-old twisted his ankle while retrieving a drop shot. The Italian recovered quickly from Djokovic’s checkup but went down fighting in the final set.

Against the winner of the second quarterfinal between British No. 1 Cameron Norrie and senior Spanish campaigner David Goffin, Djokovic will make his semifinal debut.
