Robyn Griggs, Actress, And Soap Star Has Passed Away At The Age Of 49
It has been reported that Robyn Griggs, a television and film star best known for her roles in the soap operas “Another World” and “One Life To Live,” has passed away at the age of 49.
In a statement posted on the star’s official Facebook account, the star announced the sad news on Saturday afternoon.
It is with a heavy heart that I am saddened to announce that Robyn has passed away,” the post began.
“However, she is no longer suffering and would want us to remember that and the good memories that we have shared with her.
I will never forget how open she was to tell her story, and how she accepted my help in telling it.
To help others, she wanted to spread the word of her story in order to help them. This was an honor for me to do so. RIP my friend, I love you. I smile when I think of you.”
She was very open with her friends and fans when it came to her health issues, as she was diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer in 2020 and disclosed as recently as last month that she had developed four new tumors as well.
Griggs married golf professional Mark Wiley in 2013.
“I have been diagnosed with four new tumors. I have two new tumors on my liver, one on my abdominal muscle and a large one on my right side lymph node,” Griggs wrote on her Facebook account on July 7.
“I am in a lot of pain, and I have chemo on Monday morning. I told them that whatever it takes, I would do it. As far as I am concerned, I am in for the fight.”
In addition to this, the account confirms that the actress entered hospice care just two days before she passed away on Aug. 11, just two days before she passed away.
There is no denying the fact that she has fought with determination, strength, and grace that is nothing short of inspirational. In this difficult time, please continue to keep Robyn and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
There were a total of six episodes of “One Life to Live” in 1991 in which Griggs played Stephanie Hobart. In the following two years, she played Maggie Cory in “Another World” for two years.
A couple of years later, she starred in a number of films, such as 2003’s “Severe Injuries” and 2010’s “Hell week.”
