Stabbing kills teen, wounds 4 in Apple River, Wisconsin: Sheriffs’ office.
SOMERSET, Several people were critically wounded after being stabbed on Saturday while tubing in a busy Wisconsin river, authorities said.
Sheriff Scott Knudson of the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Department described the scene as “chaotic” and “scary.”
During a press briefing on Saturday, he told reporters that he is certain that anyone who witnessed it will never forget it. There has been a tragedy.”
The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office reported that five people were stabbed with knives while tubing on the Apple River in Somerset on Saturday afternoon.

According to Knudson, a 17-year-old boy from Minnesota was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead after being transported there.
In addition to these four victims, he stated that all of them were believed to have suffered critical injuries as well. A helicopter was used to transport two victims out of the hard-to-reach area, while several ambulances responded to the scene.
It was reported by the sheriff that one woman and three men, all of who were in their early 20s, were among the survivors.
Despite fleeing the scene, a suspect was taken into custody without incident by the sheriff’s office after he was captured without incident.
As per the sheriff, the man was 52 years old and from Minnesota, according to the sheriff. It was a bystander who took a picture of him that helped authorities locate him, he said.
It was said that authorities were searching the area for the knife used in the attack as well as interviewing a number of witnesses, according to Knudson.
Currently, we are attempting to divert some tubing traffic around the crime scene. We are having some difficulty getting them off the river, and gathering up what we can in a hard-to-reach area.
Exactly what sparked the attack is unclear, Knudson said.
According to the sheriff’s office, there is no further threat to the public.
About 35 miles east of Minneapolis, Somerset is located near the Wisconsin-Minnesota border.
Camping and tubing are popular activities along the Apple River.
