It is no secret that Stephen Stephen Curry is synonymous with the Golden State Warriors, and he has stated several times throughout the years that he wants to retire with the only team he has ever suited up for in his professional career.

Just a few months back, fresh off of winning his fourth championship and his first Finals MVP award, Curry said of the Warriors, “I don’t ever want to leave this place. I want this place to be my only home.”.

Curry is not expected to leave the Warriors any time soon, but he did leave the door slightly ajar for the possibility of playing for another team in the league in the future despite no one expecting him to leave the Warriors.

Stephen Curry brought up the possibility of playing for the Charlotte team he grew up supporting on Thursday.

When Curry received the key to the city of Charlotte on Thursday, he brought up the possibility of playing for the team he grew up supporting in Charlotte.

There has always been a part of me that wants to finish my career out in Golden State because of how much it means to me, the experiences and teammates, and the journey that we have been on together.

Everybody asks me, “Wouldn’t you like to play one year for the Hornets and come back and see what it’s all about?”

Before Curry could even finish his sentence, the crowd began to cheer and applaud the idea of Curry playing for Charlotte before he had even finished his sentence.

Curry said, “Oh no, don’t do that.”. “I’m not making any promises, but if there was a team I wanted to play for that wasn’t the Warriors, that would be it.”.

Maybe Curry will play for the Hornets at the end of his career,

Curry won’t leave the Warriors anytime soon, but maybe in the twilight of his career, he’ll play for the Hornets, as his father did in the 1980s and 1990s.

Charlotte will have to refocus its attention until then on the exciting young core of players it already has around All-Star guard LaMelo Ball.

Curry and the Warriors will once again be title contenders in the upcoming season.
