Timeline of events leading up to Elon Musk’s decision to pull out of Twitter deal worth $44 billion
Elon Musk, the billionaire Tesla CEO, announced on July 9 that he was pulling out of the $44-billion Twitter deal, nine months after he signed a deal to buy the microblogging platform.
Twitter allegedly failed to provide Musk with enough information about fake accounts on its platform, and the company was in violation of “multiple provisions of our agreement”.
Twitter’s chairman Bret Taylor said the company would take legal action against Elon Musk as a result of the breakup between the company and the billionaire.
