Variety has learned that Justin H. Min has joined the cast of Searchlight Pictures’ “The Greatest Hits.”

As the star of Netflix’s “The Umbrella Academy” and a breakout performer in Sundance’s Sundance player “After Yang,” Min joins Lucy Boynton.

She had previously been announced for this emotional movie musical by writer-director Ned Benson (“The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby”).

Despite the fact that the plot details of the film have not been disclosed yet, the project is being described as a love story that explores the connection between music and memory, and how the two can bring us together (in this case, physically).

Min, a rising star in the Marvel series “Umbrella” has turned heads as the lead in the forthcoming film “After Yang.” Produced by A24 and directed by Koganda, the futuristic tale of loss won the Alfred P. Sloan feature film prize in Park City earlier this year.

Min was recently announced to be a part of the cast of the comedy “Shortcomings,” the directorial debut of comedian Randall Park, as well as to be part of the upcoming A24/Netflix series “BEEF.” The show follows a couple obsessed with a road rage incident led by Ali Wong and Steven Yeun and is penned by showrunner Lee Sung Jin.

Currently, he is represented by CAA, Authentic Management, Narrative, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush, Kaller, Gellman, Meigs & Fox.

The production of “The Greatest Hits” will begin in September and will last until the end of the year. Benson, Stephanie Davis, and Cassandra Kulukundis are producing the project along with Michael London and Shannon Gaulding of Groundswell Productions.

It is the responsibility of Searchlight’s heads of production and development DanTram Nguyen and Katie Goodson-Thomas, as well as production vice president Richard Ruiz and creative executive Cornelia Burleigh, to oversee the development process for the studio.

There has been a renewal for the 4th and final season of “The Umbrella Academy” on Netflix

“I am thrilled that the incredibly loyal fans of ‘The Umbrella Academy’ will have the opportunity to experience what I know will be a fitting conclusion to the Hargreeves siblings’ journey that began five years ago.

We have an incredible story ahead for Season 4, one that will keep fans on the edge of their seats until the very end,” showrunner and executive producer Steve Blackman said in a statement. Before we come to that conclusion, we have another fantastic story in store.”

Among the cast members returning for season 4 are Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castaeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya, and Colm Feore.

The Executive Producers returning for the final season of The Blackman Show are Jesse McKeown, Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg, Scott Stuber, Beau Bauman, and Co-Executive Producers Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá.

In the event that we got a Season 4, I think inevitably we would be going towards an endgame,” Blackman previously told TheWrap.

At some point, I’m not sure where we’ll go after Season 4. I’m not sure where we’ll be going after Season 4. It is important that we take care.

It is my plan for next year that we will not continue to tread on the same ground as we have done in the past. The challenge is to come up with a new way to subvert this storyline, and I think we have an idea of how to go about it.

Having said that, I think if we do get to Season 4 of the show, it would be a great ending to the series. Obviously, I am not saying that I couldn’t do more, but I think that if I was able to do four seasons, it would be very satisfying for the audience.”

With regards to the story of the final season, Blackman told us, “I want to pose this question to the viewer and to the fan, ‘Would they be happier without their powers?’ I mean, they spend the whole season complaining about the fact that they have powers.

Can Victor and Diego cope without it or will they feel as though they’re missing an appendage without it? If they were to lose their powers, would the world not be right for them anymore? Are they capable of being ‘normal’?

Blackman also added that while the universe is now reset, “how it is reset and the ways it will be reset is a place we’re going to be going to hopefully in Season 4,” so there are a lot of stories left to tell and many plot threads from Season 3 waiting to be picked up.

As well as greenlighting the final season of the show, Netflix has also extended its creative partnership with Blackman, who will be working on various projects under his Irish Cowboy productions umbrella, including “Horizon Zero Dawn” and “Orbital.”
