Lexus has sold exactly two examples of the GS this year — probably because it was discontinued in 2020.

A strange, random, and almost surprising figure is hidden in the Toyota/Lexus sales reports for the first half of 2022 and June.

There was only one new unit sold of a model Lexus discontinued two years ago. Only one person bought a brand new Lexus GS.

The Lexus GS has been discontinued since 2020. It's been a long time coming. As consumers shifted to crossovers and SUVs, no one was buying them.

In the first months of 2020, the GS sold just 624 units, down from 23,000 in 2015. We thought it had disappeared. Apparently, some dealers kept a few in their back lots.

In June of 2022, Lexus sold exactly one new GS. This brings the GS' total sales for the year to two.

Two people walked onto a Lexus lot and specifically sought out a two-year-old brand new car. Is someone's chiropractor? Is she a well-to-do grandmother?

Those two sales represent a 97.2-percent change from 2021 when 70 weirdos bought a Lexus GS.
