There was a clash of opinions between former "The View" co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Whoopi Goldberg over the topic of freedom of choice
Elisabeth Hasselbeck appeared on "The View" on Wednesday, where she clashed with Whoopi Goldberg about abortion.
According to Goldberg, when it comes to giving birth, women have a right to make their own choices, which prompted Hasselbeck to demonstrate her viewpoint with a prop.
Life has a plan and a purpose designed by God. Innocent lives shouldn't be punished with the death penalty, which is why I brought this towel.
Hasselbeck then produces a white hand towel bearing the words "I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong".
Hasselbeck literally threw in the towel during her return to The View," writes People on Twitter, alongside a photo of Hasselbeck with her prop.
In God's plan, lives are not limited by conception or birth circumstances," Hasselbeck said during the abortion segment. "But there are alternatives."
There are thousands of agencies that provide free assistance to women who might not be able to care for their newborn."
Goldberg later joked that Hasselbeck was her first conservative conversation partner, to which Hasselbeck replied, "I was your first?".
"Hold your issue in one hand and hold your friend's hand in the other. If we can't do that as a society, we're teaching our kids the wrong way to talk about difficult issues," she said.
