Kamaru Usman is taking his knockout loss to Leon Edwards in stride, saying he is "feeling great" and looking forward to their trilogy bout.
On Saturday, the "Nigerian Nightmare" lost his first UFC fight after being kicked in the head by a left hand.
As a result of losing his belt, Usman is handling the situation extremely well, giving credit to his opponent for landing the knockout blow.
"Everything is great," Usman said. "Man, that was a great shot. I'm talking about a Hail Mary in the Super Bowl, last 10 seconds.
Usman says he's watched the fight several times now and believes that his friends and family are more upset than he is about the outcome.
"Everyone is more emotional about it than I am," he added. "For me, that's a good thing because it tells me people care, people are invested."
Despite the loss, Usman sees it as an opportunity to inspire people as he moves forward with his career.
"I have a rare opportunity now to inspire and motivate people and show them that you can fall and get back up."
Kamaru says he wants to regain his belt in his next fight, with a specific time and place in mind...
