'Avatar 2', the sequel to 2009's Avatar, opens in cinemas at the end of the year. Winslet teased her character in a new trailer.

Avatar: The Way of Water, directed once again by Titanic's James Cameron, will star the protagonist of Mare of Easttown as Ronal, the co-leader of the Metkayina clan.

During an interview with Empire, Kate Winslet described Ronal as "deeply loyal and fearless leader."

In the teaser trailer, viewers have seen Ronal's pregnant state. Another scene shows her preparing for battle with Tonowari (Cliff Curtis), her co-leader.

With Winslet, a jaw-dropping cast includes Zoe Salda*a and Sam Worthington, who will reprise their roles from the first film, Michelle Yeoh, Giovanni Ribisi, Vin Diesel, and Edie Falco.

Avatar has been a hit with fans since it was released 13 years ago, taking them to Pandora, a habitable moon colonized by humans.

In the primary movie, Jake Sully (Worthington) falls in love with Neytiri (Salda*a), the daughter of extended family leaders of the Omaticaya extended family.

According to the official synopsis, the sequel is set "more than a decade after the events of the first film" as Jake and Neytiri are now married after he decided to switch into his avatar permanently
