Jordan Peele's 'Nope' opens with a modest $6 million, and Brad Pitt's 'Bullet Train' crosses the $100 million mark globally at the international box office

The science-fiction thriller "Nope" generated a so-so $6.4 million from 19 territories at the international box office.

In the United Kingdom and Ireland, the film opened with $2.1 million, ranking below Peele's debut feature "Get Out"'s $2.6 million opening.

"Nope" debuted in Australia with $1.2 million, which is below "Get Out's" $1.4 million debut. "Nope" only sold $1.2 million in France, a steep drop from "Get Out," which opened to $2.7 million.

As with "Get Out" and "Us," Peele's previous movies have made most of their money domestically - and "Nope" looks to be no different.

Currently, the film has accumulated $107 million in North America, making it the director's third feature film (out of three) to cross $100 million.

As far as domestic ticket sales go, "Nope" is still behind Peele's debut film "Get Out" ($176.1 million) and his sophomore effort "Us" ($175 million).

The first two films collected about $80 million each for a total of $255 million internationally.

As "Nope" cost $68 million to produce - significantly more than Peele's previous films - Universal should keep it in theaters until the end of the summer.
