The Venice Film Festival gives a spirited five-minute ovation to Olivia Wilde's film, Don't Worry Darling

This evening, Olivia Wilde's Don't Worry Darling had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival.

Wilde's film received a spirited five-minute ovation from stars Harry Styles, Chris Pine, Gemma Chan, and Florence Pugh, who arrived late from Dune 2's Budapest set.

Wilde - who co-wrote and co-stars in the film - joined Styles, Pine and Chan earlier in the day to field questions from the media.

However, Shia LaBeouf's withdrawal from the project and Florence Pugh's absence from the press conference were largely avoided.

"Florence is a force; we are so grateful she is able to attend tonight [the premiere] despite being in production," Wilde said.

In spite of all the endless tabloid gossip and noise out there, the internet feeds itself. There is no need for me to contribute to it. "It is sufficiently nourished."

Residents' needs are met by the company, so life is perfect. In return, they ask for discretion and an unwavering commitment to Victory.

A crack in their idyllic life reveals signs of something much more sinister lurking beneath the attractive façade, and Alice begins to wonder what they're doing in Victory.
