Dr. Anthony Fauci, who played a critical role in steering humanity through the two pandemics of our time, AIDS and C-19, announced Monday that he would step down from federal service.

From December, he will leave his positions as director of the NIAID and chief of the NIAID Laboratory of Immunoregulation, along with his role as chief medical adviser to the president.

In his role as the secretary of health and human services, Xavier Becerra said he relied on Fauci's advice and praised him for "being able to explain complex science to the American people in a way that saves lives."."
