After coming out as nonbinary in May 2021, Lovato previously used they/them for her gender pronouns. She said on the Spout Podcast, "I've actually adopted the pronouns of she/her again."
She said last month that she "rarely" thinks about using drugs four years after her near-fatal overdose, despite singing about her addiction struggles on this album.
She returned to treatment in December to get "sober sober" after being "California sober" last year.
Her new record "speaks for itself," Lovato said ahead of its release. Another song, "29," calls out her ex Wilmer Valderrama over their age gap.
She was 17 and he was 29 when they met and started dating the following year. In 2016, the relationship ended after six years.
Her past relationships include Joe Jonas and Trace Cyrus, and she was briefly engaged to Young and the Restless actor Max Ehrich in 2020.
