During Sue Bird's final game as a member of the women's basketball history, emotions run high

Sue Bird and the thousands who showed up hoping to see her career continue for at least 40 minutes shed tears on the court and in the stands: the finality of the situation finally hit them.

The Las Vegas Aces advanced to the WNBA Finals on Tuesday night thanks to Chelsea Gray's 97-92 victory over the Seattle Storm.

Fans gave Bird their thanks, tears were shed, and Bird walked off the court on the same spot where his career began more than 20 years ago.

" Kinda weird. Definitely surreal. At first, I felt sad about the season and the game. But as the emotions surfaced, I realized it was my last game." Bird said.

Gray scored 15 of her 31 points in the fourth quarter as the Aces won the series 3-1, with all games being tense, pressure-packed and filled with spectacular shots.

Most notably, Gray sank five of six shots down the stretch and scored 12 of the Aces' final 20 points.

As Seattle coach Noelle Quinn said, "I believe there is no one on this planet who can guard her.". "She was unconscious."
