The first ODI was won comfortably by India Women after restricting England Women to 227/7 in 44.2 overs.

On Sunday, the India women's cricket team won the first ODI against England Women at County Ground, Hove. 

Harmanpreet Kaur & Co. beat the hosts by seven wickets after restricting them to 227/7. The series is now 1-0 in favor of India.

Smriti Mandhana hit 91 off 99 to lead the team to victory. 

She shared a crucial 96-run partnership with Yastika Bhatia (50 off 47).

As a result, Mandhana and Kaur virtually sealed India's victory. For the third wicket, they scored 99 runs together.

For the winning run, Kaur hit a six in the 45th over. She remained unbeaten on 74 off 94 balls.

St Lawrence Ground, Canterbury, will host the second match on Wednesday (September 21).
