According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, former NFL running back and Super Bowl champion Marshawn Lynch was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of driving under the influence.

Officers stopped Lynch at Fairfield Avenue and West Utah Avenue, just north of the famed Las Vegas Strip, and determined she was impaired, according to the department.

He was arrested, taken to the Las Vegas city jail, and booked into the city jail, according to the Las Vegas police.

Lynch was hired by his former team on Monday to "produce creative content for a variety of projects." By Tuesday afternoon, the announcement had disappeared from the Seattle Seahawks' website.

Ynch, nicknamed "Beast Mode" for his ferocious running style, played 12 seasons in the NFL and won Super Bowl XLVIII with the Seahawks in 2014.

In 2019, Lynch retired from the NFL after playing for the Seahawks, Raiders, and Buffalo Bills during his playing career.

Lynch was a standout tailback at the University of California, Berkeley during the time that he was there.

In Oakland, California, Lynch is well known for his community work and activism -- he cofounded the Fam 1st Family Foundation to support youth programs.
