The first couple to get engaged on Love is Blind Season 2 was Nick Thompson and Danielle Ruhl. Their preference for each other was clear from the beginning, unlike some of the other daters.
"I really attribute it to the fact that we've been able to dive in and spend hours and hours and hours getting to know each other in a way that takes months, if not years, in the real world," Nick, 35
Danielle, 28, felt the same way. Nick has completely captured my heart. "I am so confident that we will have a good relationship that I am ready to get married tomorrow," she said.
Upon meeting face-to-face and arriving in Mexico, the couple was giddy. On their third day in paradise, Danielle became sick with a stomach bug, exposing her insecurities.
Danielle cried in their room while Nick attended the mixer alone. "I don't trust anything right now," she told her fiancé. As Nick walked away, he told Danielle to "stop the toxicity."
He said that because they'd already developed communication skills and a foundation, they "were able to come back from" the disagreement, adding, “Our bond grows stronger and stronger.”
Nick defensively said, "I did have things going on yesterday outside of meeting [her] family." Danielle's response? This isn't possible for me."
Until their wedding day, the two continued to argue. He admitted that getting married was more of a "game time decision" for him because he "wasn't 100% certain that she was 100% certain."
It has been confirmed by court documents that the news is true, but neither Nick nor Danielle have responded to the news online.
