Asomugha, signed to a big deal by Philadelphia in 2011, has struggled mightily since then, and Samuel and McCoy did not mince words about it

It was widely reported that Nnamdi Asomugha was heavily pursued when he entered free agency in 2011 and that he eventually made the Philadelphia Eagles his new home.

As a former Raider, he signed a five-year $60 million contract with a $25 million guarantee, but his teammates were not impressed with his performance right from the start.

On the I Am Athlete Podcast, former Eagles cornerback Asante Samuel called Asomugha "overrated." When asked what he thinks of Asomugha, Samuel was very candid.

It comes to mind that the NFL can manipulate narratives in order to make it appear as if things are not what they seem to be," Samuel said.

There's no excuse for the poor play between teams. You can't be this good over here and then suddenly have no talent over here," Samuel said.

Asomugha's stats differed between the Oakland Raiders and Philadelphia Eagles. He allowed one touchdown in 45 games with the Raiders from 2008-10, but nine in 32 games with the Eagles.

LeSean McCoy the 2011 Eagles' star running back, recounted the first one-on-one between Asomugha and McCoy. Asomugha's addition to the roster changed after he played tight end

Brent Celek After being hyped up for several months, Celek shocked him with a post-corner route, ending the illusion.

In November 2013, Asomugha was waived by the San Francisco 49ers after two seasons with the Eagles.

As part of his retirement agreement with the Raiders, Asomugha signed a one-day contract in December 2013.

Nnamdi Asomugha, in their opinion, was an idiot from the start
