Richard Torrez Jr. Knocks Out Marco Antonio Canedo In The First Round

On Saturday night, Richard Torrez Jr. viciously knocked out Marco Antonio Canedo in the first round of their fight.

In just 43 seconds into their scheduled six-round fight in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the hard-hitting heavyweight prospect knocked Canedo out flat on his face with a left-right-left combination.

It is my understanding that Torrez dropped Canedo twice in their very brief fight, and that Canedo had to seek medical attention as a result.

Eventually, Canedo (4-3, 2 KOs) sat up and was removed from the ring. His three opponents as a professional have all been knocked out by Torrez.

In the opening round, the action was officially stopped by referee Gary Ritter after 44 seconds of action.

During the Summer Olympics in Tokyo a year ago, Torrez won a silver medal for the United States while fighting for Tulare, California.

He fought again in just six weeks after his previous fight lasted 58 seconds Torrez knocked out Roberto Zavala Jr. 2-2-1, 2 KOs in the first round at the Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California

In less than 21 seconds, Torrez forced Canedo to squat with a straight left hand. Torrez was faster, stronger, and more powerful than Canedo, even though he was stunned.
