'Empire' actress Lindsey Pearlman's cause of death, six months after her body was found, has been revealed six months after she died

As far as we know, the 43-year-old actress was last seen in February at her home. Her body was discovered five days later in a car five miles away from her home where she was last seen.

Six months after Lindsey Pearlman was found dead in Los Angeles, the cause of her death has been revealed.

Pearlman died of sodium nitrate toxicity on Feb. 18, according to records of the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner.

Pearlman, 43, was last seen on Feb. 13 at her home in East Hollywood, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

On Feb. 18, her body was found inside a vehicle near Runyon Canyon Park in Hollywood, where the LAPD filed a missing person report five days after her disappearance.

The family has requested privacy during this difficult time as they process and grieve over the loss of Lindsey Pearlman, who passed away today at the age of 40.

Lindsey's cousin Savannah Pearlman shared the missing person report when Lindsey disappeared, saying Lindsey's sister asked her to share the National Suicide Hotline with anyone who needed it.

Lindsey has been found and it is too late to save her," she wrote in an email. "I do not know the location or circumstances of the incident."
