They gave this film, the sixth installment in an increasingly preposterous dinosaur action/adventure franchise, a drubbing that was completely out of proportion to the film's crimes.

The crimes committed by Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (or Jurassic Basement: Fallen Mansion) or Jurassic World... or even Jurassic Park III... or The Lost World: Jurassic Park in San Diego.

I personally didn't expect Dominion to even be close to recapturing the magic of 1993's Jurassic Park (despite bringing back the original cast).

My goal for Jurassic World Dominion was to see as much Sam Neill as Alan Grant as possible, in contrast to what I expected from that film almost 30 years ago.

In my opinion, Jurassic World Dominion is certified fresh based on that metric, the only real one of consequence when it comes to this fun but frustrating franchise.

Peacock just released the extended version of Jurassic World Dominion, which gives us two more extended scenes of Sam Neill playing his curmudgeonly yet brave paleontologist.

Since Sam Neill is my favorite actor, Alan Grant is one of my favorite fictional characters, and Sam Neill was my very first celebrity crush, am I inclined to give Jurassic World Dominion a pass?

If I watched the entire movie again, nearly three hours of dinosaur mayhem, would I be interested? Due to the hyperlinks I provided, you know the answers to those questions.

I love this man so much. Smoldering! I endorse Jurassic World Dominion: Extended Version on Peacock after careful consideration.

In spite of the unexpectedly hostile critical reaction to this film, I think Dominion is an action-packed romp with lots of laughs (oh my god, Alan ordering coffee at a tech startup!).

I had a crush on Sam Neill for almost 30 years, a crush that evolved into a deep respect for his craft and admiration for his kind and affable public persona before watching the film.

Also, he makes really good wine! With a bottle of Two Paddocks, I rang in 2022. The extended version is good, but I recommend watching Jurassic World Dominion if you're a Sam Neill fan.
