As a result of poor weather, a search operation for a passenger plane missing in Nepal on Sunday was hampered.
After taking off from the western town of Pokhara at 9:55 am (0410 GMT) in a Twin Otter aircraft operated by Tara Air, the aircraft lost contact with the air traffic control tower after 15 minutes.
AFP reports that Tara Air's Sudarshan Bartaula is trying to fnd a possible location for the aircraft.
"Both the police and the army are en route to that location to search for survivors."
In addition to the nineteen passengers, three crew members were aboard. Among the passengers were two Germans, four Indians, and the remainder Nepalese.
In the Himalayas, Jomsom is a popular trekking destination that can be reached by plane in about 20 minutes from Pokhara, which is 200 kilometers (120 miles) west of Kathmandu.
Two helicopters were deployed for a search operation, but visibility was low, said Phanindra Mani Pokharel, who spoke for the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Experiencing poor visibility, Pokharel said that the bad weather will likely hamper the search operation.
