Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip4 looks like a classic clamshell design from earlier smartphones, and starts at $999.99. The Galaxy Z Fold4, a smartphone that folds out into a tablet, starts at $1,799.99.
Samsung announced the devices, along with a new smartphone and wireless earbuds, during its Unpacked event on Wednesday.
When fully opened, the Galaxy Z Flip4 has a 6.7-inch screen. In its closed clamshell form, it has a smaller but still functional 1.9-inch Super AMOLED display.
Using supported digital keys, owners can still make calls, send texts, take pictures, and unlock their cars even when closed.
This year, the phone's FlexCam, which uses the front-facing camera in flex mode, and apps from Meta, including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, are integrated better
As well as a slimmer hinge, the phone's screen bends to open and close, and its edges have been straightened. Four colors will be available: bora purple, graphite, pink gold, and blue.
When closed, the Z Fold4 has a 6.2-inch screen, but when opened, it has a larger 7.6-inch screen, similar to a small tablet.
In this year's Z Fold4, users will be able to quickly access favorite or recent apps with a taskbar similar to what you might see on a computer.
Multitasking is also made easier with new swiping gestures, such as using two apps simultaneously in a split-screen view.
Additionally, the Z Fold4 has a flex mode that enables users to visit apps while the phone is partially opened.
In addition, Samsung is working closely with Google and Microsoft to make their services, including Gmail and Outlook, more user-friendly on the Z Fold4
In addition, there are improved cameras, a brighter display, and a less-visible under-display camera. Compared to last year's Fold device, it has a slimmer hinge and is lighter.
