From the moment Durant requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets on June 30, it became the biggest story of the NBA offseason, but no deal has been negotiated.

When it seemed Durant could return to Brooklyn, ESPN and The Athletic reported that a mystery team was seriously considering a bid.

Shams Charania reported that the Boston Celtics offered Durant Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, and a draft pick.

Brooklyn declined the offer and requested Boston include Marcus Smart as well as additional compensation in the draft, according to reports.

The opening of training camps around the league takes place on Sept. 26. Durant still wants to be traded from Brooklyn, according to reports.

There is no deal believed to have traction for Durant, according to ESPN. Adrian Wojnarowski has noted that the Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, and Toronto Raptors are also serious contenders for Hart.

Durant has always been a challenge for the Nets due to his age (34 years old to begin the season), his contract situation (4 years left on his deal), and an obscure league rule.

Although the Nets and Celtics haven't reached an agreement yet, a deal centered on Durant for Brown seems more realistic.
