In the Wimbledon semifinals, Rafa Nadal will meet American Taylor Fritz as the No. 2 seed. Livestream details and TV timings can be found here.

As Nadal opens up the race to claim 22 grand slam titles to date today, he is returning to the court for the first time in more than a year.

As a result, he advanced in straight sets over 21st seed Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp 6-4, 6-2, 7-6(6). In the semifinals, the winner of 22 Grand Slams will face 11th-seeded Taylor Fritz.

“After all the things that happened the last few months (chronic foot injury), being in the quarterfinals at Wimbledon after three years is amazing for me,” Nadal said.

Nadal won the third-round match 6-4, 6-4, over Italian Lorenzo Sonego, who broke at the end of the third set before Nadal rebounded to win.

All four majors can be won in the same season by Nadal. In order to complete the calendar slam, he will have to win the US Open in order to extend his record to 23 major men's singles titles.

Against Jason Kubler of Australia, Fritz won 6-3, 6-1, 6-4. It was in March that the American defeated Nadal in the Indian Wells final.

It's been a breakout season for the 24-year-old after he won the BNP Paribas Open in his native southern California and reached a career-high ATP Ranking of No. 13.
