The Xiaomi 12S was showcased at an event in China as the company’s latest flagship model. This time, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra is the main flagship device. Moreover, the phone is the direct successor to the original Mi 11 Ultra. An inch-sized Sony IMX989 sensor is used in the phone’s massive camera module.

An actual DSLR camera lens is modeled at the rear of the camera module. Moreover, the design honors Xiaomi’s partnership with German camera-maker Leica. However, according to the company, the 12S series will only be available in China. Earlier this week, Android Central reported this, and Xiaomi PR staff confirmed it to us.

Considering Xiaomi also streamed the event on its global YouTube channel, it is surprising. It is unlikely that Xiaomi will sell the Xiaomi 12S Ultra in India or other markets at the moment. If the Xiaomi 12S Ultra is released in other markets, it may have a different name or number line. At this point, all of that is speculation, and confirmation has yet to come.
