IU celebrates her 14th debut anniversary with a donation of Rs. 1.1 crore
I would like to thank IU once again for making a generous donation!
Known for making regular charitable contributions, especially to women and children, IU has recently made a huge contribution to celebrate her 14th debut anniversary by making huge charitable contributions to women and children.
The Korean Standard Time (KST) reported on September 18 that IU had given a combined donation of 200 million won to two organizations over the course of the month.
It is more than Rs. 1.1 crore in total! In order to commemorate her debut anniversary, the singer-songwriter donated 100 million won to the Asan Social Welfare Foundation as well as another 100 million won to the Seoul Metropolitan Child Welfare Association.
This kind of act was made even more special by the fact that the singer-songwriter didn’t donate the money to the organizations under her name, but to Uaena, the name of her fandom, which made this kind of activity even more special.
According to IU’s agency, EDAM Entertainment, he said, “With Uaena, who have provided me with miracles both big and small over the last 15 years, I am sharing warmth again this year with a heart full of gratitude to them.”.
My sincere hope is that we will be able to bring another little miracle to someone in our lives through our hearts coming together.
I have been fortunate enough to have been able to spend all the time I have been able to spend with Uaena over the past 15 years. Thank you and I love you to the moon and back,” the statement concluded.
It is intended that the donation from the Asan Social Welfare Foundation will be used to pay for cancer treatment for women and children suffering from financial difficulties, while the donation from the Seoul Metropolitan Child Welfare Association will be used to help support young people as they prepare for their financial independence.
However, this isn’t the first time that IU has donated to The Asan Social Welfare Foundation. In December of last year, the singer-songwriter made a donation to the organization in the form of a check.
Aside from that, IU is currently holding a solo concert at the Olympic Main Stadium as part of the Jamsil Sports Complex, making her the first Korean female artist to have achieved this feat.
There have been a number of K-pop idols attending day 1 of the concert, including BTS’ Jungkook, TWICE’s Jeongyeon, and TXT’s Soobin and Beomgyu, among others.
