The Milwaukee Bucks center Brook Lopez proposed to his long-term girlfriend at Walt Disney World on Sunday
Brook Lopez earned the nickname "Splash Mountain" because of his seven-foot stature, range from beyond the arc, and enthusiasm for the Disney theme park ride.
Lopez celebrated a significant life event earlier this week at a park in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. On Monday, Lopez proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Hailee Strickland, at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
As the proposal took place in front of the Tree of Life, it was planned 13 years to the day after the couple first met in that park 13 years ago.
The following summer, each Bucks player spent time with the Larry O'Brien trophy after the team won the NBA championship in 2021.
As Lopez celebrated the trophy at Splash Mountain, it was only fitting that he would celebrate another momentous occasion there.
After dining at Tiffins Restaurant in the park, Lopez and Strickland took engagement photos at the location of the proposal where Strickland wore special mouse ears.
