The US Open third-round duel between Coco Gauff and Madison Keys on Friday ended in a 6-2, 6-3 victory for Coco Gauff in just over an hour at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York.
Having defeated Rebecca Marino 6-2, 6-4, Gauff will now face China's Shuai Zhang, who advanced with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over the 12th-seeded Gauff.
The 18-year-old Gauff is the youngest American woman to reach the round of 16 at all four majors since Venus Williams in 1998.

No. 17 seed Caroline Garcia knocked out 2019 champion Bianca Andreescu in the fourth round with a 6-3, 6-2 victory. Garcia has won 11 straight matches, including last month's title in Cincinnati.
Iga Swiatek is the only other top-five player still in the tournament. A three-set loss by Maria Sakkari at No. 3 and a loss by Paula Badosa at No. 4 eliminated them from the tournament.
