In an effort to take care of his mental health, actor Tom Holland is stepping away from social media platforms.
"Spider-Man: No Way Home" star hasn't been active on Instagram and Twitter for several months, and it appears he's finally explained why.
According to the 26-year-old, he has deleted these apps from his phone and does not plan on reinstalling any of them in the near future.
“I find that Instagram and Twitter are overstimulating to the point of being overwhelming,” the actor told his 67.7 million Instagram followers in a video posted last week.
When I read things about me online, I spiral and it's detrimental to my mental health. As a result, I decided to take a step back and delete the app."
In making the video, Holland explained that it took him "about an hour" to formulate his thoughts as he tried to put them into words.
Moreover, through his family's organization, the Brothers Trust, the actor is a proud sponsor of Stem4, a UK-based mental health charity for teenagers.
“ I know asking for help and seeking help isn't something we should be ashamed of, but it is something that is much easier said than done,” he said in the clip.
Don't worry, we understand, but we're also gonna miss you," wrote one fan, before another added, “I hope you have a great life.”
