There has been an end to Florence Pugh's relationship with longtime boyfriend Zach Braff, the actress confirmed in her Harper's Bazaar Icons cover story, which was published on Aug. 16.
Earlier this year, the "Don't Worry Darling" actor, 26, and "Scrubs" alum, 47, split. Afterward, they collaborated on Braff's 2023 film "A Good Person."
Because it has been a relationship everyone has an opinion on, Pugh has been trying to pull the plug on it without the world knowing.
This way we wouldn't have millions of people telling us how happy they are that we aren't together." That's why we did it. When I talk about it, I get a lump in my throat."
They were seen holding hands in New York City that same month after working together on Braff's short film "In the Time It Takes to Get There."
The fact that they were 21 years apart made much of their relationship subject to public scrutiny due to their age gap.
The "Little Women" star addressed the criticism in 2020 when she posted a picture of Braff on Instagram for his 45th birthday, which was met with "horrid" comments hurling abuse.
"I don't need you to tell me who I should love, and I won't ever, ever tell anyone they can't love. This isn't your place, and it has nothing to do with you."
After Pugh was photographed with "Midsommar" costar Will Poulter and friends on vacation in Ibiza in May, speculation about a split from Braff began to swirl.
